- Building iDCs to meet the demand of the broadband age / Guidelines for selective use of SLA and iDC - Last year saw rapid spread of broadband Internet connections. Now, not just businesses but individuals alike are enjoying an galways-ONh Internet access environment at a reasonable cost. We believe that in this climate, iDCs (Internet data centers) will be playing roles that are growing more and more significant, as part of the essential infrastructure for information technology businesses and services. More people are recognizing how crucial iDCs are, and in the years to come, these centers should attempt to serve their clients in a very practical way, i.e., they are expected to provide the right kind of information required by the clients at the right moment. In consideration of this situation, the iDC Initiative has prepared the document gGuidelines for Building an iDC/ SLA Guidelines for Using iDCs,h and the Interoperability Technology Association for Information Processing, Japan (INTAP) has prepared "Guidelines for Selective Use of iDCs." Intended to provide helpful indexes to businesses considering their new business strategies, these guidelines will, we hope, be of valuable help to many organizations, both private and public, in considering how best to use iDCs. Thus, the two organizations that prepared these guidelines will jointly hold a seminar, as described below. We cordially invite you all to attend this seminar.
