"JACLE" (Javascript Annotea-client for Collaboration Environment) - User Trial Demo
Nobuhisa Shiraishi, Ubiquitous Platform Development Div., NEC Corporation.
[Abstract]
"Annotea" is the schema for attaching annotations and metadata to the Web contents proposed by W3C. But it can be used not only as a simple RDF annotation schema but as the platform of Web based communication and collaboration in groups or enterprises. In this conference, you can actually try our Annotea client "JACLE" (Javascript Annotea-client for Collaboration Environment) on your laptop. By attaching your questions and comments to the presentation slides on the Web dynamically, you can feel the possibility of Annotea and JACLE as the next collaboration platform in groups or enterprises.

MedDRA ontology
Mr. Noboru Shimizu, Keio Research Institute at SFC
International Medical Information Center(IMIC)
[Abstract]
We have successfully ported MedDRA thesaurus into OWL ontology, and generated a new MedDRA ontology. By the MedDRA ontology, it is easy to provide several new services such as intelligent search, information integration with user local information, semantic inference or autonomic processing. The MedDRA ontology has almost same size of Galen ontology developed in UK.

Towards a Digital Home Appliance Ontology for Contact Center Applications
Yukihiro Morita, R&D Group, Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd.
[Abstract]
We introduce our activity for constructing a Digital Home Appliance Ontology that make easy to retrieve information such as their usages and maintenances.

ISO/IEC MMF Ontology Registration, its objectives and current status
Masao Okabe, Corporate Systems Department, Tokyo Electric Power Company
[Abstract]
Semantic Web has been attracting great attention for several years. There are already many implementations. From the point of business information systems, however, there are still issues to be resolved. First, there is no mechanism to provide a trust of an ontology so that an business information system can utilize it. Second, an ontology that a business information system wants to utilize is not necessarily limited to the ones in Semantic Web. In this presentation, ISO/IEC MMF Ontology Registration is presented as one of the measures to resolve these issues.

Ubiquitous Metadata Scoutor
Takahiro Kawamura, Research & Development Center, Toshiba Corp.
[Abstract]
The scoutor is a semantic application in Ubiquitous Computing environment. Just by holding your cellular phone close to any of products around you, it finds the related blogs from its bar-code metadata. Further, you can get the extracted word-of-mouth and hot topic on that product. Please stop by our booth and try it!

Applying Semantic Web technology to Information Security Management
Itaru Hosomi, NEC Internet Systems Research Laboratories
[Abstract]
Information Security Management System(ISMS) requires to identify all of an organization's information assets. However it is too hard manually to do. We will explain a system for confidential document identification and risk analysis, and will discuss how metadata and ontologies contribute for the system.

Find relationships by traversing graph with CSM (Context Structure Matching)
Hiroyuki Sato, NTT Information Sharing Platform Laboratories, NTT Corporation
NTT Software Corporation
[Abstract]
A large scale heterogeneous data structure can be transformed into a knowledge representation using a RDF graph.
We propose CSM to extract similarity and comparison points from the RDF graph by a combination of analysis and graph pattern matching. We also present a demo of cross domain search using CSM on office data to search similar persons and compare technological keywords from several types of databases.
- 8A project of a sightseeing guide system based on personalization and group Adaptation
Yukiko Kawai, National Institute of Information and Communications Technology
Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd.
[Abstract]
We introduce a novel decision-making system for a group which has developed based on meta data, context, user profile, and group profile by using the personalization and group adaptation technologies.
- 9Light-weight metadata management
Hideaki Takeda, National Institute of Informatics
[Abstract]
We demonstrate two types of systems to manage light-weight metadata. One is RNA/Glucose that manage RSS for personal knowledge management, and the other is Semantic MediaWiki that enables management of collaborative contents with semantic annotation.
- 10The leading-edge trend and case study of Topic Maps
Motomu Naito, Knowledge Synergy Inc.
[Abstract]
The topic map standardization work, such as Query Language, Constraint Language and Reference Model, is going forward steadily. Moreover, Topic Maps related tools are also becoming substantial for a number and a function. The leading-edge trends about these standardization work, related tools, etc. are reported. Furthermore, the new case studies of a topic map are also reported.

"The XFY Technology -- Creating the New Paradigm for "Human-Tractable XML" out of Machine-Readable XML"
[Abstract]
We have been seeing an emergence of XML standardization and application involving industrial standards such as XHTML (text), SVG (graphic), XBRL (business), SOAP and WSDL (Web services) as well as the Semantic Web standards such as RDF, OWL and OWL-S.
With this regard, interoperativity among the standards has come to be a formidable technological issue.
We shall introduce our Xfy technology that enables the seamless handling of XML standards by demonstrating use case scenarios for consumer developers.
